Winery raises funds for RACQ Careflight
Mountview Wines at Glen Aplin teamed up with the Stanthorpe Jockey Club recently to raise funds for RACQ CareFlight – a medical and rescue helicopter service on standby 24 hours a day to help people who are sick or injured in southern Queensland and northern New South Wales. Manager of Mountview Wines David McGrath said they chose to support RACQ CareFlight because of the fantastic work they do for the community of Stanthorpe. “We have just finished tallying up the proceeds, and with the help of the Stanthorpe Jockey Club, we’re proud to be donating more than $1,000 to RACQ CareFlight,” Mr McGrath said. “The recent Race Day at Stanthorpe was a great chance to auction sporting memorabilia and other prizes donated by local businesses.” “We are very appreciative of the hard work of the people at Mountview Wines and the Stanthorpe Jockey Club in organising this fundraising event,” RACQ CareFlight CEO Ashley van de Velde said. “Their commitment to their community is just fantastic, they have demonstrated that by their support of essential community services like RACQ CareFlight, which are important for the area.” Since beginning operations in 1981, RACQ CareFlight has helped more than 12,500 people. Now in its 25th year, it is thanks to the support of the community that it is able to assist those in need at no cost to the patient. |
