Community Open Day
10th May 2008
Emu Swamp Artists are excited to be able once again to support the local community in a Community Open Day in Glen Aplin. This day will be a celebration of friends and neighbours with a theme of Handshakes Hugs and Hellos. Joyce Gray the organiser of the day says “the community of Stanthorpe has a uniquness that should be celebrated, we welcome relatives, friends and visitors to the area with open arms and give them a hug when we see them” This idea was the inspiration of the day.
Community groups such as Girl Guides, Scouts and the Glen Aplin Hall Committee will be providing BBQ and other delicious treats including home made soup and damper at minimal costs and funds raised will go to these organisations. Other activities will include demonstrations of Line Dancing, local school jnr choir and Stanthorpe Pipe Band. Local musicians will keep the crowds entertained with music all day.
