Motorhome Expo at Mountview

Mountview Wines is please to present a weekend long expo of Motorhomes from the Brisbane company, Motorhome Conversion Co. This company has a great reputation for converting existing vans, campers and buses into reliable vehicles ready to travel the great distances around Australia, in a layout to suit your needs. They also have a great range of new and preloved campers and motorhomes, with a selection of impressive options.
John Jeffreys from Motorhome Conversion Company said “The demand is great and we can accommodate for every price range, travelling Australia in comfort should be available to anyones budget,” “from the smallest trailer type to the movers and shakers who just want to spend their time travelling in style with “no fixed abode”. Mountview Wines will also be hosting the Emu Swamp Art exhibition with displays by local artists. This exhibition has a great range and is not to be missed.
The weekend will also have some local produce on display from Glen Aplin’s own Natures Glen, who have honey and jams all made with local products. Noleen Leming reports that the honey has various natural healing properties and is great for sinus, hayfever and skin conditions. Natures Glen boasts the only Qld Safron grower.
Mountview Wines will also host a FREE SAUSAGE SIZZLE and of course the grounds are available for picnics. Angela McGrath adds “our community pizza oven will be fired up and ready to go, so we welcome people to come and try the wood fired pizza.”
The 2008 Bloody Good Red will also be available by the glass and of course our free wine tasting.
David McGrath from Mountview Wines asks everyone from Southern Downs to Brisbane to take the time and call out and see these wonderful motorhomes that are on display. “it’s such a great display and a fantastic opportunity to see these vehicles in your own backyard. The value and workmanship must be seen to be believed!”

Community Open Day
10th May 2008
Emu Swamp Artists are excited to be able once again to support the local community in a Community Open Day in Glen Aplin. This day will be a celebration of friends and neighbours with a theme of Handshakes Hugs and Hellos. Joyce Gray the organiser of the day says “the community of Stanthorpe has a uniquness that should be celebrated, we welcome relatives, friends and visitors to the area with open arms and give them a hug when we see them” This idea was the inspiration of the day.
Community groups such as Girl Guides, Scouts and the Glen Aplin Hall Committee will be providing BBQ and other delicious treats including home made soup and damper at minimal costs and funds raised will go to these organisations. Other activities will include demonstrations of Line Dancing, local school jnr choir and Stanthorpe Pipe Band. Local musicians will keep the crowds entertained with music all day.
Mountview Wines have available their cellar door and are thrilled to be celebrating their second anniversary under the new management. Owner David McGrath is a huge supporter of the local community making available the premises of Mountview to local artisits on a regular basis and to community groups to hold AGMs and social gatherings. Mr McGrath said “Its important to give back to a commiunty that supports you” Mountview will have available their Bloody Good Red one of their most popular wines.
One of the most popular acitivites of the day will be FREE HUGS which will be given out by a small group of local young people who are happy to spread the enthusiasm and friendship of the Granite Belt.
